Gossip Girl

Some of you may think I am crazy, but I am kind of in love with the new ad campaign. Sure it isn't the greatest ad campaign of all time, but I am really amuses and makes me excited for the show, which is the whole point right?

Bonnie Schiffman

When I went to the Arclight in LA to see "The Darjeeling Limited" last year there were photos up by Bonnie Schiffman, and they amused me. I grabbed the promotional postcard and came across it today as I was tidying up my apartment, so I thought I would share her work with you. The pictures above are the cast of Seinfeld (duh) and Chevy Chase. Sorry they are so small, you can check out the rest of her work (over thirty years of photography celebrities) on her website.

Leatha

I am not a big fan of logology books, but I love the debossed leather (or Leatha as Stella would say) of this cover. And the WWF Panda logo just looks so adorable.

Pol Bury

In addition to the exhibit I posted about earlier this week, I also saw Wunderkammer: A Century of Curiosities. My favorite pieces (and probably the least curious in the exhibit) are the two above of the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower. I found them really intriguing, they are both silk screens by Pol Bury.

Brilliant

I was at the strand and saw this man carrying around a little stool on his shoulder. This is the greatest idea for the city, I need to find myself an identical stool to carry with me.

Funny thing is my friends actually created a similar thing for a project last year because our stools at Parsons are so incredibly uncomfortable, and our classes are a minimum of 3 hours. All of us are going to have to have physical therapy at the end of our four years.

Kirchner and the Berlin Street

Went to the MoMA this weekend, and saw Kirchner and the Berlin Street exhibit which I didn't even know was there. It was great. I had never even heard of Kirchner before, but loved what I saw. Really interesting interpretation of street/city life.

The two pictures above were my favorite pieces from the exhibit. I also really enjoyed the typography for the title of the show. Sorry the picture is a little shotty.

If you are in the city you should make your way over to 53rd and 5th and check it out.

Tale of Two Cities

My uncle is producing the musical "A Tale of Two Cities" (he was also in the original broadway cast of Les Miserables), the show is currently in previews and opens September 18th. And I am so excited I get to go to opening night! Today I saw the Marquee for the first time, and squealed with delight. It has always been my dream to go to opening night on broadway, and in less than a month I get to.

The show got rave reviews in its out of town run in Florida, and was sold out everynight! I cannot wait to see it, it should be spectacular.

Addiction

As I mentioned a while back I started doing Bikram Yoga. It is rather intense, but I really like it. Well Thursday night I flew back to NY so I wasn't able to do yoga, and my body was craving some Bikram. Granted this is healthier addiction than most, but my body's want to do some poses was pretty intense.

Get it Yogi Bear, Yoga? Oh, I am silly...

STEALING SECOND

The trailer for Stealing Second is complete, and so is the poster, and the site. Stealing Second is the short written and directed by my brother Alex Richanbach (aka Brother Richanbach). It is hilarious if I do say so myself.

Oh and I did the design work for the film.

You can visit the website at http://www.oceanwalkproductions.com/
ALSO...I Heart You Blog did a lovely post about Stealing Second, Alex, and Me. You can see it here.

Blustery Day

It is a blustery day here in Eugene. My theory is that Eugene is sad to see me leave tomorrow, and this is it's way of showing it. Just a few tears here, a few sniffles there.

I'm leaving the West Coast for New York again, packing is almost done, so is my spontaneous clean-out of my room. I'm tired.......

Love

I would love to come across this brick wall. The eyes kind of remind of Ursula's "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from The Little Mermaid.

Martha

I know we are supposed to hate Wal-Mart and everything, but have you seen the new Martha Stewart line there? It is adorable! I want everything, I was there last night and I almost bought everything, including the glitter (aka the herpes of craft supplies).

Found him on Polanoid, I suggest checking it out.

KRISATOMIC

Found a new blog last night that I am now obsessed with. I think it is because I harbor this secret (well I guess not anymore) wish to be an illustrator. I am not a great drawer, but if I could draw I would want it to be in an illustration style. And I loooooove Krisatomic's blog now.

(As you can now see I have quite a few obsessions)

Obsession

My new obsession is Jon and Katie Plus 8. If you don't know about them and this show, Jon and Kate are a couple who had a set of twins (Mady and Cara) then when they decided to try for one more then ended up having six. And this show is chronicling their life. It is AMAZING. The kids are so cute, and amazingly well behaved. I recommend checking it on TLC.

Trying trying trying

Why does summer and the sun make it so difficult to work? All I want to do is lay in my backyard and enjoy the weather.

The sweatiest I have ever been

I tried Bikram Yoga with my BFF for the first time and it was pretty spectacular.  If you don't know what it is, it is a yoga practiced in a room that is 105 degrees fahrenheit, and 40% humidity. I have never sweat so much in my life. I had to sit down a couple of times due to the fact that I got light headed. But besides that it was a great workout. However I did find some of the poses a little difficult since my body was so slippery. So if you don't mind being so sweaty that it is like you just jumped into a pool of your own sweat, I definitely recommend it.

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas....

So since I was born my family has watched "White Christmas" every year. It is one of our few family traditions. Well my mom got an e-mail saying that "White Christmas" was coming to Broadway as a musical. I was instantly excited, but upon further inspection, I am not sure how great the show will be, but I love the design of their website, etc.

I Heart You

I am using my dad's computer, so I do not have all my favorite blogs bookmarked. So I was googling "I Heart You" hoping to find this, but found this little video instead. It amused me.

Charley Harper

I was walking down the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and passed an art book store. The cover of a book caught my eye. It was Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life, personally I had not heard of Charley Harper but the cover caught my eye. So I googled him (because that is how you find out about anything you want to know about) and immediately fell in love with his illustrations.

The Sartorialist + The Gap

Just over at The Sartorialist and saw Scott Schuman's gap ad, so thought I would share it here too.

Hugh my love

I apparently have a thing for guys named Hugh. My first love was of course Hugh Grant, and now I have a celeb crush on Hugh Dancy. So I am delighted he will be in the upcoming Gap ad campaign. In addition so will Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist) and the photogapher Ryan McGinley who I love.

Hottie with a Knife

I looooove Jason Mraz, and I think this picture is absolutely amazing! It is from his journal entry "Travel Tip 3: Bring a Big Fucking Knife".

I also really enjoy the moose that is drawn to the left of his journal entries.

T
hanks Jaime to alerting to me this amazing picture.

Why is it that we even still make cars that aren't hybrids?

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants TWO

So I never read the second novel, but of course I read the first because who in their right mind didn't if you were in middle school at the time?

Anyways, even though I never read the second book I am incredibly excited for the movie. When I saw Sex and the City movie there was a preview for this, Mamma Mia, and He's Just Not that Into You, and it was like having an amazing opening act for a concert.

I have seen Mamma Mia, so now it is coming time to see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I am going wait until I am back in Eugene to see it with Amanda, my BFF who I saw the first movie with , and I am so excited!

Michael Moscovitz aka Robert Schwartzman

Has any one else realized this? I was watching "The Princess Diaries", because I am apparently a tween. And there was a scene where Michael Moscovitz is playing with his band, and I thought wow that sounds like a Rooney song. Then I thought hey he looks like Jason Schwartzman. MAYBE HE IS JASON SCHWARTZMAN BROTHER WHICH MEANS THAT THAT IS PROBABLY ROONEY! Well I investigated and I was right. Anyways, I just thought I would share that revelation with you.

Blueside is the snippit of a song you can hear in the movie.

Why me?
Because you saw me when I was invisible.

Step Brothers

I saw "Step Brothers" with my dad and friend Ryan last week. I would have most likely seen it because it is another creation by Apatow, but the real reason for this trip to the movie theater is that this film is my brothers first screen credit since moving to LA. If you sit for the credits you will see the title "Production Assitants" then about eight names, then about half way done you will see Alex Richanbach. And that my friends is my brother. He even has his own IMDB, ballin!

Now if you don't care about seeing my brothers name, I still recommend seeing this flick. Not the best to come out of the Apatow crew, but still enjoyable and will make you laugh.

Hello Southern California

I have arrived in Los Angeles to spend some time with the family. On the flight down I finished "The Graduate" (the book not the movie) by Charles Webb. I think it was a fitting book to read on my way to LA since it takes place in Pasadena. It was fabulous, apparently Webb has written a sequel to the novel. I am torn about reading it because I don't want to spoil the book in any way, but since it was such a good read I would love to read more of his work.

Hmmm, what to do, what to do.

Tonight my family and I will be dining to Spago then heading to Disneyland in the morning.
So far, so good!

La la land

I am heading off to LA today with the family. Another week of fun and sun, I like summer.

I may be posting occasionally, I may not, I guess we will just have to wait and see.
