Charlie's Angels

So I was watching Charlie's Angels, and Drew Barrymore is just a little time capsule of 1999/2000 in this movie. Watch the trailer and see the wonderful hair trends she sports, like the really intense sporadic curls, and the crimped hair. Not too mention her romance with Tom Green.

Also, the opening montage scene of this movie is pretty spectacular, and Bill Murray is Bosley, love. Oh and Luke Wilson is in it. AND All the Small Things by Blink-182 is the closing credits song!

For those of you girls that were in middle school/high school when this movie came out, did you throw up your hands in the air when independent woman played at your school dances. I sure did.

Love The Strand

I love The Strand. I just bought my textbooks for this semester for over 50% off. How great to be able to buy used to cheap textbooks when you are taking a class on the conservation of the rainforest.

Another thing I love about The Strand is that it is located at my favorite corner, 12th St and Broadway. That corner has the greatest view of the Empire Sate Building. When I lived on 12th street, I would cross that corner every day on the way home and realize how lucky I am to live in the city.

I also bought a book about the village in the 1960's. It is called "A Freewheelin' Time" and I am really excited to read it.

Oh and fun fact? If you dig Dylan, you probably know it is quite a mystery who the girl in the picture with him is, well my calligraphy teacher is apparently really good friends with her. How crazy is that?

So many delightful things are going on for Penguin's 70th birthday. Mugs, beach chairs, towels...But can we just take a moment to look at how cute the Penguin is just by himself (or herself, not quite sure on that one)

OBAMA!!!!!!!

Yay for today!

The Glass Castle

I finished reading this wonderful book on my flight back to NYC. The story is both shocking and spectacular. My best friend Amanda felt the same way that though at points the way their family lived their life was so horrendous, for a lack of a better word, but then at times it was so free we felt a bit envy for that type of life.

Read it and you will see.

Babydoll-Centipede

Oh lord, I found this delightful image on ffffound, and could not stop laughing. It is so brilliant. So I sent it to my best friend who is terrified of centipedes and the like. She then proceded to have horrendous nightmares about this doll chasing her and then throwing real centipedes at her. I understand to her this was not funny at all, and incredibly terrifying, but to me, I could not help but laugh.

Yes Pecan!

What an investment

IN 1926, A DUTCHMAN BOUGHT THE IDLAND OF MANHATTAN FROM NATIVE AMERICANS FOR $24. TODAY IT WOULD COST MORE THAN $8 BILLION.

17 Again

So I don't particular want to be seventeen again considering that that was only three years ago, but I am actually intrigued by this new film starring Zac Efron. As you may remember from yesterday, I am not his biggest fan, I actually enjoy him in this trailer.

And when looking into this film I found this little newsbit on IMDB:

Daughter Licks Mann's Face To Get Close To Efron

23 March 2008 6:18 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Leslie Mann's daughter was so excited her mother had a kissing scene with Zac Efron in upcoming movie Seventeen Again, she licked the actress' face when she got home from work.

Mann, who is married to director Judd Apatow and is best known for her roles in The 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up, plays Efron's wife in the new film.

And her 10-year-old daughter Maude was desperate to get a taste of the High School Musical hunk.

Mann, 35, says, "My daughter Maude, who's 10, is in love with Zac Efron and I just did a movie with him called Seventeen Again where he plays a grown man in a 17-year-old's body. And he plays my husband, so we got to kiss, which was very exciting for Maude.

"When I got home from work after doing the kissing scene, she ran up to me and licked my face because she wanted to taste Zac Efron's spit.

"Zac is 20 by the way, he's not 17, so it's not as creepy."

Mann adds, "I always thought it was creepy when older movie actors would have really young love interests. I always thought that was really gross.

"But now I totally get it."

Gag me with a spoon

I am not a big fan of Zac Efron, HSM really makes me want to cause physical harm to people though. So when I saw these guerrilla advertisements done by a classmate of mine, I couldn't help but laugh.

Double Slug Bug

A couple of summers ago I had some of my east coast friend come out west to go to Lake Tahoe and they were amazed at all the old VW bugs  and busses there were. I didn't realize they weren't as frequent on the East side of the country. I finally saw my first VW bus in the NYC. I was so excited I couldn't help but take a picture.

W

When the film W came out I walked by posters for the film every day on the way to school. Then I walked by one day and saw what you see in the picture above. Pretty grand, gotta love that guerrila art.

I also saw this splendid poster of Sarah Palin during the elections.

Steve Martin

A while back I read Born Standing Up: A Comic's Life by Steve Martin. I really enjoyed it, and included in the book is an image of Steve Martin's first business card. I think it is great. I have been trying to come up with a clever idea for my business card, something to make it memorable, and I definitely think this one is memorable.

Sorry for the poor image quality!

My Sincerest Apology

I am sorry for being so MIA as of late. I went on vacation from school, and apparently have decided to do positively nothing. It has been quite nice. I am still on vacation, but have been receiving questions about my whereabouts so have decided to return to the blogosphere.

During my time of doing nothing I found this hilarious trailer on Fred Flare. Enjoy!
